- Dettl, Helen (Yingling) (nee Andrejeski) 2002 Appleton Post Crescent dated 11/30/2002 Dettl, Helen (Yingling) (nee Andrejeski) Kaukauna Age 79, died peacefully Thursday, Thanksgiving Day at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton following a brief illness. She was born November 11, 1923 in Kaukauna; daughter of the late Thomas and Stella (Romenesko)(WRONG SHOULD BE Romanski) Andrejeski. Helen married Jerome Yingling in 1944, he preceded her in death in June of 1966. On October 20, 1973, she married John Jack Dettl. The couple celebrated 28 years of marriage until his death in June of 2001. Helen enjoyed sewing, quilting and going to the casino. She was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church, Combined Locks. Surviving are children and their families: Thomas (Debbie) Yingling and their son Jeremy, Appleton; Linda (Pete) Madaski, Iron Mt., Michigan; Gary (special friend Ginny Deines) and his son Jordan, Appleton; Karen (Michael) Rammer and their daughter Sarah, Kaukauna; David (Jennifer) Yingling and their sons Dan and John, Appleton; Audrey Dettl (Milton) Daanen, Sturgeon Bay and their children, Deborah Daanen (Jamie) Van Dahlen, Gregg (Karen) Daanen, Jeffrey (Amy) Daanen, Carrie Daanen (Scott) Callahan; Jack (Carol) Dettl, Allen, Michigan and their children, John (Lynn) Dettl, Jim (Lucy) Dettl, Joel (Kim) Dettl, Mark (Mary) Dettl, Janet (Dan) Ahlburg; 17 great-grandchildren, two brothers and five sister-in-laws: Joe Andrejeski, Neenah; Steve (friend Rita) Andrejeski, Kimberly; Lorraine Andrejeski, Kimberly; Mary Yingling, Lakewood; Della Yingling, Nebraska; Delores Yingling, Appleton; Dorothy (Gene) Sage, Arkansas; a sister and three brothers-in-law: Mary (Al) Newlin, Florida; Orv (Bea) Yingling, White Lake; Jim (Joanne) Yingling, Leona; numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerome Yingling; second husband, John Dettl; a brother, John; three brothers-in-law: Donald, Norbert and Francis Yingling; four sisters-in-law: Hazel Yingling, Kathrine, Esther and Marie Andrejeski. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Monday, December 2, 2002 at St. Pauls Catholic Church, Combined Locks with Fr. Robert Vandenberg officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church from 3:30 pm Monday until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. The family would like to thank two special angels, Delores and Harry Hurst, Dr. Alan Cherkasky, Dr. Robert Gellar and the staff of Hematology and Oncology of the Fox Valley and also Dr. Bryan Avery and the staff of the ICU Unit of St. Elizabeth Hospital for their caring and compassionate treatment of Helen during her illness.
