  • Notes
    • My paternal great grandfather was Charles Miller. He was born in 1917 in Brillion, WI. He grew up on a farm in Brillion with his 10 siblings. He actually had 11 siblings, but one died at a very young age. After he graduated from high school, he went to college at Marquette University to study business. Charles Miller was only at school for one year when his father became very ill. He left Marquette and came back to Brillion to run his father's farm. He never went back to school. He got married and although he disliked farming, he bought and ran his own dairy farm. In addition to running the farm, he supplemented his income by holding various jobs. He first worked at Ariens in Brillion and then at the Brillion Ironworks. After 10 years at the Ironworks, he worked at a trucking company as a maintenance worker and finally worked in the machine shop for a company in New Holstein. It was in the late 1970's that Charles Miller stopped farming. He rented the farm land and moved into the city of Brillion. This is where my great grandfather lived until his death in 1989.
