    • Annaceil (Kernen) Harter, nee Smith, age 94, Neenah, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born on June 7, 1917 in Kaukauna, daughter of late Henry J. and Harriet (Verhagen) Smith. She married Leslie Kernen on May 24, 1941 and he preceded her in death on February 24, 1967. On September 3, 1969 she married Percy Harter who also passed away on May 22, 1991.

      She is survived by two sons: Dennis Kernen, Norwalk, CA, Timothy (Kathy) Kernen, Neenah; one grandson, Mark Kernen, CA; granddaughters: Leslie, Norwalk, CA, Rachelle Kernen, Houston, TX, Elizabeth Kernen, Neenah; great grandchildren: Matthew, Victoria, Nickolas, Thomas, Logan Marie, and Rory; brothers: Clyde (Lyola) Smith, Joseph (Arlene) Smith, Jerome (Char) Smith, and Marvin Smith.

      In addition to her parents, and her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela, daughter-in-law, Sue Kernen, brother, Wilfred Smith, and a sister-in-law, Germaine Smith.

      The Funeral Mass for Ann will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Larry Abler and Father Norm Krutzik officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Kaukauna. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
