    • Verhagen, Catherine (Bergman) 1985 Appleton Post Crescent dated 4/25/1985; Catherine Bergman, Mrs. Louis G. Verhagen, age 91, died Wednesday evening, April 24th, 1985. She was born January 11th, 1894, in Kaukauna, and was a lifelong resident. She was a World War II Gold Star mother, a member of the auxiliary of the VFW Post 3319, and a member of St. Mary Alter society. Survivors include three daughters and two sons in law, Johanna and Clarence Fink, of Algoma, Regina and Walter Swaningson, and Rosemary Kramer, all of Kaukauna; three sons and daughters in law, Ervin and Dorothy Verhagen, Eugene and Rita Verhagen, all of Kaukauna, Jerome and Kathryn Verhagen, of Waupaca; 25 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and sixth great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; two sons, Stephen, in World War II, and Melvin; and a daughter Lucine. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at St. Mary Catholic Church,, with the Rev. Theodore Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Kaukauna.
