      OLD PIONEER DIES.
      John De Bruin, aged 77 years, died this morning, Friday, at one o'clock, after a short illness from a paralytic stroke which developed Wednesday. Mr. DeBruin had been quite active until that time and had been about town as usual seeming quite rugged for a man of his years.

      Deceased was born in Holland and came to America 56 years ago settling in the town of Buchanan; afterwards he lived in Freedom and Holland, coming to this city to reside two years ago when he purchased the Henry Scholl property at the corner of Kaukauna and Doty streets where he has since resided with his family.
      Surviving are his wife and children, John and Peter of Freedom, Henry of Vandenbroek, Martin, Joseph, Mrs. Herman Promer and Mrs. Aloys Hopfensberger of Kaukauna, and Mrs. Henry De Bruin of East Holland.

      The funeral will be held from Holy Cross church, Monday morning at nine o'clock and interment will be in the family lot at Hollandtown where two of their children are buried.

      DE BRUIN FUNERAL

      The funeral of the aged pioneer, John De Bruin, was held from Holy Cross church Monday morning at nine o'clock. Monsignoir P. J. Lochman, vicar general of the Green Bay dioceses officiating and from there the procession went to his old home at Hollandtown where Father Vande Elsen held services at St. Francis church where many of the old neighbors of the deceased attended the last sad rites of their old time friend. His remains were laid at rest by the side of two of his children in the family lot.

      The pallbearers were Henry Vandening, Stephen Dietzler, Martin Arts, Albert, Theodore and John Van Vreede.
