- William J. "Bill" Billodeau, 87, Ashwaubenon, died peacefully, Monday, June 18, 2012, at a local hospital. He was born Dec. 24, 1924, in Menominee, Mich., to William August and Emma (Therriault) Billodeau. Bill was born above Frank's Shoe Store in Menominee, MI. He was a graduate of Menominee High School after he served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the Pacific Theater in the Signal Corps. Following the war he got his diploma and worked for Northern Paper (now Georgia Pacific). On May 17, 1947, Bill married Marie U. Gillis at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Duck Creek. For many years he was a scout leader with the Boy Scouts, and was a Eucharist Minister at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church and nursing homes. He volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul, was a 35 gallon blood donor, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed camping, taking trips with his family, and volunteering his time to different organizations.
Survivors include six children and their spouses, Kathleen and David Niespodzany, Pulaski; Michael and Denise Billodeau, Green Bay; Steven and Mary Billodeau, Green Bay; Robert and Dorothy Billodeau, Pulaski; Brian Billodeau, Ashwaubenon; James and Wendy Billodeau, Luxemburg; 17 grandchildren and their spouses, Allan and Erica Niespodzany, Andrew and Michele Niespodzany, Aaron and Tammy Niespodzany, Adam Niespodzany, Barry Billodeau, Sara and David Drewek, Don Puylaert, Christina and Mike Belter, Jason Billodeau, Brad Billodeau, Don Jankiewicz, Eric Billodeau, Jessie Billodeau, Samantha Billodeau, Nicole Billodeau, Justin Billodeau, Melissa La Tour; 21 great-grandchildren and two more due in September; his dogs, "Little Willie" and "Little Charlie"; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; his parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Harold Paque.
A Veterans Memorial Service with the VFW Post#10244 will be held at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Shepherd Mausoleum
