- The news of the death of Mrs. Wm. Krautkramer which occurred at St. Elizabeths hospital at Appleton brought true regret and sorrow to the many people of this village and vicinity when it was heard that she passed away at sunrise on Monday morning following an operation which she underwent the day before.
She was taken sick a week prior to her death during which time she suffered day and night and was unable to eat any food. On Wednesday night the doctors who attended her advised an operation and she was then taken to St. Elizabeths hospital where an operation was performed soon after. After a careful examination during the operation the doctors had little hopes for her recovery. Life hung on a thread until 5:15 oclock on Friday morning when she was called to cross the river to her final home. Gangrene of the bowels was the cause of her demise.
Mrs. Krautkramer was a good wife and mother from her childhood she was known for her tender and kind disposition and now has won the reward for which she looked forward. As a mother she was kind and affectionate as neighbor she was always cherished and will be missed by her many friends. She was a good Christian and was a member of St. Marys Church.
Miss Mary Rossmeier was born on August 15, 1882 in the town of Woodville, where her parents were one of the first settlers. The trials and hardships of these first settlers in which they played so important a part, will never be definitely known to most of us.
In 1907, on May 20, she was married to Wm. Krautkramer who conducts an implement business here.
She leaves to mourn her untimely death, husband and two children, Leander and Angeline, two sisters Mrs. Louis Knoeck of Marathon City and Mrs. Frank Knoeck also of that city, and three brothers, Conrad, John and Joe of the town of Woodville.
The funeral took place Monday and the remains were laid to rest in the St. John Cemetery.
