Walter E. Carviou
Walter E. Carviou, 82, of N6617 Highway 180, Marinette, passed away Thursday, Sept. 29 at Bay Area Medical Center. He was born April 10, 1923 in Porterfield to the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Eleanore Walters) Carviou, residing in the area all of his life.
He married the former Mernice Leslie on Feb. 27, 1943 and for many years they owned the Carviou family farm in the Town of Porterfield, operating Elm Dairy Farm and a milk route. He retired from farming in 1980 and continued operating his milk route until 1985. An avid bowler, he was a 50 year member of the Twin City Bowling Association. He was also a member of Porterfield Lutheran Church and the A.R.C.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Ronald (Mary) Carviou of Marinette; six daughters, Mrs. James (Janet) Meyers of McAllister, Mrs. Donald (Bonnie) Gorshe of Larsen, Mrs. Timothy (Deborah) Lemery of Menominee, Mrs. Stephen (Diane) Woods of Marinette, Mrs. Michael (Wanda) Brien of Lake Mills, Wendy Carviou of Appleton and Shery Carviou of Marinette; a godson; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Mary Ann) Carviou and a sister, Mabel Konyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, a grandson, a great-grandson, six brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Porterfield Lutheran Church with the Rev. Nick Johannes officiating. Burial was in the Community Lutheran Cemetery, McAllister.
