Funeral services for Donald R. Carviou, 80, formerly of Whitelaw, were held Tuesday, March 5 at St. Anne
Catholic Church in Francis Creek. Rev. Theodore Hendricks officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial was
at the parish cemetery. Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home in Kellnersville served the family. He died
Friday, March 1 at Rivers Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.
Born Sept. 13, 1921 in Porterfield to the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Eleanore Walters) Carviou, he served in
the U.S. Army during World War II. He married the former Florence "Tina" Francour on May 1, 1943 at
Stephenson, Mich. She preceded him in death on Feb. 27,1999. He worked as a welder for Manitowoc
Shipbuilding, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Kempen-Staudinger VFW Post
7753 of Mishicot, Manitowoc County Fish & Game Association, and Maribel Sportsman Club.
Survivors include three sons, Dale (Doreen) of Mishicot, Thomas (Nancy) of Escanaba, Ray (Theresa) of
Whitelaw; four daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Candy) Vandenhouten of Two Rivers, Joy Carviou, Gail Carviou and
Tracy Carviou, all of Whitelaw; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and six sisters-inlaw,
Walter (Bernice) Carviou, Robert (Mary Ann ) Carviou, Kate Carviou and Dorothy Carviou, all of
Marinette, Loretta Carviou of Green Bay, Adeline Voelker of Pembine; two sisters, Mildred Berman of Peshtigo,
Mabel Konyn of Marinette. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers, Raymond, Henry,
Kenneth, Vincent and Lester; and a granddaughter, Angela Mary Carviou.
