Lester J. Carviou, age 81, of Hwy.180, Marinette died Tuesday, May 25, 1999 at home. He was born on June
25, 1917 in Porterfield to the late Eleanore (Walters) and Howard Carviou. He owned and operated a milk route
and farmed until retiring in 1980. He married Dorothy Schultz on December 29, 1937. They have been happily
married for 61 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Walsh.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 2 sons, James (Gladys) of Marinette and Edward (Linda) of Porterfield; 5
daughters, Sally (John) Biehl of Porterfield, Linda (James) Bayerl of Porterfield, Rosemary Carviou of Marinette,
Mary Carviou of Little Suamico and her special friend, Rick Babcock and Margie (Bill) Turner of Escondido,
California; 3 brothers, Robert and Walter both of Marinette; and Donald of Whitelaw, Wisconsin; 2 sisters,
Mabel Konyn of Marinette and Mildred Berman of Peshtigo; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Eleanore and Howard, 4 brothers, Vincent, Henry, Kenneth, Raymond and a
granddaughter, Heidi.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 27 at the Thielen Funeral Home form 4 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m.
Rev. Roger Strebel will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Walsh. The family would like to
extend a special thank you to Dr. Mantei and Dr. Mertens for their compassionate care.
