- Joan Diedrick, age 82, died at home surrounded by her family on May 16, 2017. Joan was a native of Kaukauna, WI having been born on December 8, 1934 to Peter and Lillian Coenen. Joan attended Kaukauna schools. On November 3, 1951, Joan married Ronald Diedrick, the son of Richard and Margaret Diedrick of Green Bay, WI, and together they celebrated over 65 years of marriage.
Joan was always focused on her family and friends. Joan was a giving and caring person that spread her warmth to others. She was also fun-loving and a joy to be around. Joan enjoyed cooking, going to the casino, and traveling. Her favorite vacations being five trips to Hawaii. Joan enjoyed her grandchildren. She always did special things for all of them. Although not a huge sports fan, she loved number four.
Joan is survived by her husband, Ronald Diedrick; two sons: Pete Diedrick (Scott Roberts) and Jay (Amy) Diedrick; four grandchildren: Sarah (Gary) Krueger, Lindsey (Chris) Strickland, Alex Diedrick (Zach Jacobsen) and Jayna Diedrick; six great-grandchildren: Hannah, Abbi and Chloe Krueger and Sammy, Levi, and Lily Strickland. Joan is also survived by siblings: Dot Schmidt (Bill Vanderloop) and Jack (Judy) Coenen. Joan is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth Coenen and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her son, Michael Diedrick; sister, Rosie (Hank) Kuchelmeister; brother, Ralph Tuffy Coenen; brother-in-law, Al Schmidt; sister-in-law, Beverly (Marv) Wery; and many aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Joans family would like to thank Dr. Werner and his staff at the Kaukauna Clinic, the staff at Theda Care at Home Hospice, especially Jenny, and the Kaukauna paramedics for their wonderful care and compassion. Also a special thank you to Joans hairdresser Therese for her weekly home visits.
A celebration of Joans life will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017, from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. at Rose Hill, 2206 E. Main Street, Kaukauna.
I see dear mothers every day and give each one her due, but, oh, how very glad I am that God gave ME to YOU!
