      Jacobi, Charles J. "Chuck"
      Charles Jacobi, 71, Appleton, died peacefully at his home Tuesday, May 20, 2008. He was born May 23, 1936, in Milwaukee, son of Maurice and Helen (Hayes) Jacobi. Mr. Jacobi was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Greenville. Charles owned and operated Val Construction until his retirement and then moved to Fort Myers Beach, Florida, with his wife. Chuck enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of the Sussex Lions Club for many years. Mr. Jacobi was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
      Chuck is survived by his wife, Sandy (Verhagen); children: Gary (Andrea) Jacobi, St. Germaine; Greg Jacobi, Waukesha; Brian Hawley, Fort Myers, FL; Guy (Shannon) Jacobi, Hartford; Rob (Kerry) Hawley, Mukwonago; Dave (Nika) Hawley, Colgate; 12 grandchildren: Jason and Erin Jacobi; Josh, Joseph and Autumn Jacobi; Sarah and Matt Hawley; Noah, Maddy and Callie Jacobi; Gary Lobermier; Hanna Hawley; brothers and sisters: Carol Edwards, Milwaukee; Lynn Laswell, San Diego, CA; Suzanne Walshe, Mill Creek, WA; Mark (Sherry) Jacobi, Big Bend; brothers-and sisters-in-law: Keith (Lynn) Verhagen, Combined Locks; Mary (Len) Hawley, Oshkosh; Barb (Leo) Schuh, Joyce (Ray) Schuh, Mark (Cindy) Verhagen, Bruce (Julie) Verhagen, Judy (Al) Zierler, all of Little Chute; Colleen (Tom) Geske, Kaukauna; numerous nieces and nephews who were all very special to Chuck; many more special friends; his loving Shih Tzu constant companion, P.J.
      He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen M. Jacobi; father- and mother-in-law, Ervin (Dorothy) Verhagen; daughter-in-law, Susan Jacobi; brother-in-law, David Verhagen.
      A memorial Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday, May 24, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, N2385 Municipal Dr., Greenville 54942, with Deacon Dave De Young assisting. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of mass. Military rites will be performed following the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
      Charles' family wishes to thank Affinity Hospice nurse, Lorie, along with Chuck's sister-in-law, Lynn Verhagen, for their loving and compassionate care.
