Notes - Clarice E. Ahrens, (Mrs. Gilbert Ahrens), Appleton, age 89, died Sunday June 6th, 2004 at Manor Care in Appleton. Clarice was born in Menasha on May 6th, 1915 to the late John and Helen (Sahotsky) Schmidt, and has resided in the Fox River Valley all of her life. On June 26th, 1937, she married Gilbert Ahrens at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. The couple enjoyed 64 years together until his death in June of 2001. Clarice was a member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton. She is survived by four daughters: Francis (Lloyd) Bruss, Neenah; Elizabeth Suess, Larsen; Mary Liebhauser, Omro; and Kathryn (William) Tuchscherer, Neenah. 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A sister Margie Theisen, Appleton. Clarice was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Barbara Gunther, a son Robert, and a son-in-law Gerald Suess. A funeral service for Clarice will be 7pm Thursday June 10th at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel with Deacon Roy Baumruk officiating. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Thursday from 4pm until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
