Gary was born on September 22, 1952 to the late Ervin and Shirley (Rusch) Rueden. He attended Shiocton Schools where he met his wife, Margaret (Midge Johnson). They married June 9, 1972 and enjoyed 51 years of happiness together. Gary was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan. He enjoyed time spent in the woods, the camaraderie of hunting, and building deer stands and wood duck boxes. Gary enjoyed cheering for his children who participated in sports, or with his teammates when he played softball or bowled. Gary was devoted to his family and was proud of his children and their accomplishments. Gary will be sadly missed by his wife, Midge, and his family: Tony, Mindy (Carrie Lydon), Russ (Andrea), and grandson, William Rueden, and Kate (Kyle) Schroeder. Gary is further survived by his sisters, Nancy (Lon) Hilliker, and Karen (Ray) Nelson, and in-laws Jack and Judy Tackman, John and Karen Johnson, Wendy Johnson, Mary Johnson, and Jennie Lauzen, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Joseph Johnson. Visitation will be held on December 21, 2023 from 4:30p.m. to 5:30p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 W. Lawrence St., Appleton. A funeral mass will be held at 5:30p.m. with dinner to follow.
