    Obituary Gary Rueden 22 Sep 1952 - 8 Dec 2023
Gary Rueden, age 71, went home to his Heavenly Father on December 8, 2023. Gary was born on September 22, 1952 to the late Ervin and Shirley (Rusch) Rueden. He attended Shiocton Schools where he met his wife, Margaret (Midge Johnson). They married June 9, 1972 and enjoyed 51 years of happiness together.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan. He enjoyed time spent in the woods, the camaraderie of hunting, and building deer stands and wood duck boxes. Gary enjoyed cheering for his children who participated in sports, or with his teammates when he played softball or bowled. Gary was devoted to his family and was proud of his children and their accomplishments.

Gary will be sadly missed by his wife, Midge, and his family: Tony, Mindy (Carrie Lydon), Russ (Andrea), and grandson, William Rueden, and Kate (Kyle) Schroeder. Gary is further survived by his sisters, Nancy (Lon) Hilliker, and Karen (Ray) Nelson, and in-laws Jack and Judy Tackman, John and Karen Johnson, Wendy Johnson, Mary Johnson, and Jennie Lauzen, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Joseph Johnson.

Visitation will be held on December 21, 2023 from 4:30p.m. to 5:30p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 W. Lawrence St., Appleton. A funeral mass will be held at 5:30p.m. with dinner to follow.

The family wishes to thank the extraordinary staff at Brewster Village for their compassionate and wonderful care of Gary this past month. Special thanks also to Joe Treiber and Steve Zitzelsberger, who continued to visit weekly the past few years.
