- Melvin H. Albert, age 91, a longtime resident of Green Bay, died Sataurday, Oct. 30, 2004, at a local hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1912, to the late Carl and Elsie (Paschen) Albert. Melvin served in the US Army during WW II. On July 12, 1939, he married Alice Dorothy Glawe. He retired as Executive Vice President/Treasurer from First Northern Savings in 1976. Melvin was a member of the Green Bay Kiwanis Club for over 40 years. Melvin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the choir and golfing.
He is survived by his wife Alice; a daughter Constance Albert and her husband Terence Adler; two grandchildren, Andrea (Patrick) Amel and Jared Oleniczak; three sisters, Esther Tremel, Gertrude Griswold, and Elaine Kuhn; and one brother, Richard (Cathy) Albert.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Marion Kaphingst.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may also call at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 S. Broadway St., from 10 - 11 a.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Michael Baucom officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
A memorial fund is being established in Mr. Albert's name.
