      Age 55, died Monday evening after a long illness. He was born December 27, 1923 in Kaukauna and was a lifelong resident. Mr. Alger had been employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company for over 30 years prior to his retirement due to an illness in August, 1978. He was a member of Thilmany Quarter Century Club and a World War II Navy Veteran. Survivors include his wife, Bernadette; his mother, Mrs. Josephine Alger; Rt. 2, Hilbert; two daughters: Mary and Pat at home; a son, Michael, Kaukauna; five brothers: George, Marvin, Bernard, all of Kaukauna; John, Hilbert; Ronald Chilton; four sisters: Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Schmitt and Mrs. John (June) Weber, both of Hilbert; Mrs. Les (Pat) Winius, Little Chute; Mrs. David (Carol) Elmergreen, Chilton. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with the Rev. Charles Fredericks officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
