- Murphy, Franklin 2004 Appleton post Crescent dated 11/3/2004; Murphy, Franklin G. Franklin G. Murphy, Neenah, age 69, died unexpectedly at Theda Clark Medical Center on Monday, November 1, 2004. He was born July 24, 1935 in Seymour, son of Frank and Beatrice (Schaumberg) Murphy. Frank attended Seymour High School and then graduated from Hortonville High School. He married Marilyn Lamers on May 11, 1957. She preceded him in death on May 17, 1987. Frank then married Judith Rateau on December 26, 1988. He worked for Kimberly-Clark for 40 years before retiring in 1996. Frank was a devoted family man and very involved with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Judy Murphy; six children: Mary (Don) Bessler, Longmont, CO; Joanne Murphy, Neenah; Sharon (Kevin) Rohde, Brookfield; Sue Murphy, Madison; Jeanne (Steve) Coenen, Kimberly; Jeff (Lori) Murphy, Neenah; a step-daughter, Wendy (Randy) Walker, Eagle River; eighteen grandchildren: Dylan and Sawyer Bessler, Hannah Herreid, Megan, Katie and Matthew Baldauf, Nathan, Lydia, Sam and Andrew Rohde, Jake, Allison and Kristin Coenen, Jack, Michael and David Murphy, Gage and Logan Walker; his mother, Beatrice Murphy, Appleton; his father and mother-in-law, John and Germaine Lamers, Kimberly; three brothers: Marvin (Ruth Ann Heeter) Murphy, Fremont, Jerry (Jan) Murphy, Appleton, David (Lynn) Murphy, Greenville; two sisters-in-law, Marge (Bob) Klessig, Manitowoc, Pat (Don) Freudenwald, Woodruff; and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn; father, Frank Murphy, and an infant son, Michael Ryan on May 9, 1980. The Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with Fr. Roy Geenen officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home and again on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
