- Wilpolt, Louis (1896-1941) 1941 Appleton Post Crescent dated 5/2/1941; Louis Wilpolt of Kaukauna Is Dead Louis Wilpolt, 45, 807 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, died at 4 o'clock this morning at the Veterans' hospital at Wood, WI. after a 3 month illness. Born March 22, 1896, at Hollandtown, he was a member of the Kaukauna Fire Department since March 1934, and formerly was employed as a tinsmith for the Haas Hardware Company, Kaukauna and the Chicago and Northwestern railway. He was a service officer of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and past commander of the American Legion Post no. 41, at Kaukauna. He was wounded in service, overseas, having been a sergeant in Company H, 128th Infantry, 32nd Division. He was a member of the Wisconsin Paid Fireman's association and of the International Association of Firefighters. The body will arrive in Kaukauna at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon and will be taken to Greenwood funeral home. Survivors are two daughters, Miss Lorraine Wilpolt, Chicago and Miss Evelyn Wilpolt, Kaukauna and one son, Gene, Kaukauna; four brothers: Henry, Kaukauna, Albert, Minneapolis, John, New York City, and Richard, Hudson Falls, N.Y. and one sister, Mrs. Ed Bay, Kaukauna.
