- Robert G. Weber, age 90, of Appleton, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 with his loving family by his side. Bob was born in Appleton on April 5, 1923 to the late Joseph A. and Genevieve (Moran) Weber. After graduating high school, Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. After the war, Bob attended the University of Notre Dame where he received his BA in Mechanical Engineering. On January 10, 1953, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jean Nolan. The couple enjoyed 55 years together until her death in 2008. Bob worked as a Field Engineer from 1952 to 1962 for Honeywell and General Dynamics. He then worked as a salesman for Weber Knitwear until his retirement in 1996. Bob loved camping, especially his annual trips to the Boundary Waters. He also loved going to church - it wasn't uncommon for Bob to attend three Masses a day. He was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and a very active member at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton for many years.
He is survived by 4 sons: Robert (Pat) Weber, MN, Kevin (Denise) Weber, Pueblo, CO, Brian (Susan) Weber, Denver, CO, and Tom (Susan) Weber, Honolulu, HI; 2 daughters: Mary Pat (Brad) Vande Venter, Appleton and Liz (Dan) Gara, Appleton; 18 grandchildren: Nolan, Reese, Reid, Chad, Nicholas, Ty, Dylan, Max, Jake, Kate, Alexander, Austin, Genevieve, Aidan, Jack, Neve, and Anne; 3 great grandchildren: Tre, Aarlyn, and Ella. 2 brothers: Ken (Terry) Weber, Chilton and Emmett (Ruth) Weber, DePere. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 414 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, with Father James Leary OFM Cap officiating. Friends may visit directly at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
