    • Catherine RYAN aged 79 funerals at Holy Cross conduct ed by her grandson Rev James F. MEAGHER of Lanark. Mrs. Ryan was one of t he early settlers having come to Appleton from the east in 1850 and to Kau kauna 8 years later where her husband took up a homestead. After the dea th of her husband 17 years ago, her son Michael took charge of the farm, w ith whom she made her home. Survived by 7 children; Humphrey, Michael a nd Mrs. John KAVANAUGH of Kaukauna, James of Meadville, PA, Mrs. Mary SHIL LCOX of Freedom, Mrs. Joanna MEAGHER of Green Bay. Pallbearers were Pet er and Patrick McCABE, James McDANIELS, Michael WELCH and James KEEL AN of Kaukauna and Martin MORRIS of Green Bay.
