Little Chute
Age 91, died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Franciscan Care and Rehabilitation Center, Appleton. He was born June 7, 1911 in Little Chute son of Martin and Nettie (Van Domelen) Bongers. Ed married Lavern Kons June 8, 1947. Mr. Bongers was a lifelong member of Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute and the North American Hunting Club. Ed was also a member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Ed is survived by his wife, Lavern, Little Chute four children: Marian (Ron) Revoir, Schofield Jerry (Dar) Bongers, Appleton Don (Nan) Bongers, De Pere Joan (Tom) Spice, New London 13 grandchildren: Charlene, Bert, Vickie and Matthew (Gelicia) Bongers, Dan and Mark Revoir Tim (Lanette) and Brenda Van Cuick Cindy (Steve) Swiderski Debbie (Jim) Lewitzke Cheri Hunter, Lisa (Brian) Meyer, Diane (Brad) Friis 24 great-grandchildren: Faith, Shane, Jeni, Stephanie, Ryan Revoir Brandon, Mark Jr., Michael, Evan, Rebecca, Daniel, Logan, Jennifer, Tyler West, Ashley, Ryan Van Cuick, Kyle, Joshua, Dawson, Tyler Friis, Nicole, Gabrielle, Desiree and Terrah a great-great-grandchild, Austin Swiderski three brothers: Clarence, Ray (Theresa) and Bob Bongers a sister, Verona Olsen two sisters-in-law: Connie Ballard and Rita Fischer two brothers-in-law: Ray (Alice) and Mike (Sally) Kons numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard (Marie) Bongers two sisters: Ethel (Harry) Van Nuland and Rose (Bud) Apitz a sister-in-law, Emily (Paul) Ballard and four brothers-in-law: Bud Ballard, Al Fischer, Bud (Fran) and Art Kons.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at St. John Nepomucene Church with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, Darboy. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the mass. Ed's family wishes to thank Dr. Jack Meyer and Franciscan Care and staff for their loving care and concern. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
