Nee: Ermers
Dorothy L. Peerenboom, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Emerald Valley Assisted Living. She was born in Kimberly on June 24, 1927, the daughter of the late Anton and Lucy (Van Dun) Ermers. On May 20, 1950, Dorothy married her loving husband, Donald Peerenboom, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly. Donald preceded Dorothy in death on March 2, 2009. She worked for many years for Evans Title Company until her retirement in 1989. Dorothy was a dedicated homemaker who always cherished her family and always put them first. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother above all in life.
Dorothy will be sadly missed by her children: Sister Jean Peerenboom of Green Bay, Lynn (Tim) Shea of Menomonee Falls, Nancy (David) Leyson of Oshkosh; grandchildren: Ryan, Heather and Emily Shea and Laura, Matthew (fiancé, Tanya Rogers), Daniel Leyson; sisters: Mary Hein, Ella (Reg) Ahrens; brother, Frank (Carrie) Ermers; sister-in-law, Erla Ermers, special family friend, Esther Ermers and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her brothers: Martin, John, Teddy, Tony and George.
A Memorial Service for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street, Appleton, with Fr. Dean Dombroski officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dorothy's name.
Dorothy's family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Asera Care Hospice, Emerald Valley Assisted Living and Dr. Travis Kroner and his staff for all their wonderful care for Dorothy.
