- Ronald James Sully Sullivan 71, of 15363 224th Ave., Bloomer, town of Cleveland, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn.
He was born January 31, 1933, in Chippewa Falls, the son of Daniel Barney and Frances (Blanchard) Sullivan. He lived in Chippewa Falls until moving to Beaver Lake near Bloomer in the fall of 2003. He graduated from McDonell High School in 1951, entered the Navy, served on the USS Oglethorpe, and was honorably discharged in 1954. He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Nadeau and had five children. Nancy preceded him in death in 1990; and in 1992, Ron married Evaughn King at St. Charles Church, Chippewa Falls.
Ron had been a salesman most of his life, having won a trip around the world selling Philco televisions. On this trip his group was granted a private audience with Pope Pius XII. He sold automobiles for many years, retiring in 1995.
He was a lifetime member of the Wild Wumpus Hunting Club of Gordon, Wis., and also was a member of the NRA, Knights of Columbus Goldsmith Council 974, American Legion Post 77, St. Pauls Catholic Church in Bloomer, and the Chippewa Falls Rod and Gun.
He is survived by his wife, Evaughn; four sons, Gary (Terry) of Charleston, S.C., Scott (Wendy) of Dresser, Wis., Michael of Eau Claire and Kelly (Lisa) of Chippewa Falls; one daughter, Patricia Page (Desmond Arnold) of Everett, Wash.; one brother, Dennis (Rosemarie) Sullivan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Sharon (Rod) McPhee of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Diane Fjelstad of Chetek; and his many grandchildren, Nathan Page, Gary Jr., Cherie, Danielle, Joshua, Logan, Grace and Shane Sullivan and Tony Joseph Pauley, Brandon and Andrew Mikulec; aunt Cele Serio of Milwaukee; two stepchildren, Jenny Mikulec and Anthony Pauley; and his two best friends, his dogs, Barney and Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004, at St. Charles Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. James Arthur will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 14, and until 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian vigil service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family prefers memorials to the Chippewa Falls Rod & Gun Club.
He enjoyed life to its fullest and will be sadly missed by his wife and family.
