      Mrs. Helen Willems Whitbeck, 64, formerly of DePere, died Friday morning in a Milwaukee hospital.

      Born in DePere Feb. 5, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Cora Cornelissen Willems. She graduated from Stout and also attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She had been supervisor of the home economics department of the West Allis school system for 27 years.

      Survivors are one sister, Regina Willems of DePere. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Chris.

      Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Mary church at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Mike Somers officiated and burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery with Cotter Funeral Home handling arrangements. A memorial fund has been established for St. Mary church.
