Notes - Menasha Resident Over 50 Years Dies
Menasha--Mrs. William Wassenberg, a resident of Menasha over half a century, died Sunday night about 10 o'clock at St. Elizabeth's hospital, Appleton, where she was a patient for two and a half weeks.
Born Dec. 21, 1868, at Milwaukee, she came to Menasha from De Pere 55 years ago. She was a member of the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, the Third Order of St. Francis, and St. Anne society of St. Mary's parish.
Survivors are two daughters, Miss Marie Wassenberg of Menasha and Mrs. John R. Whitney of Neenah; seven sons, Aloysius of Montreal, Can., Cyril of Appleton, Carl of Milwaukee, Chief Petty Officer Fabian Wassenberg of the navy, William of Rhinelander, Marcellus of Menasha, and Pvt. Venturie Wassenberg of Camp Barkley, Tex.; one brother, A. J. Wind of Escanaba, Mich.; 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Laemmrich funeral home and at 9 o'clock at St. Mary;s church, the Rev. Msgr. John Hummel officiating. The remains may be viewed at the funeral home from Tuesday evening to the time of the services.
