- Kathleen Mader (nee Gaffney), age 60, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 3, 2013. Kathy was born on February 9, 1953, daughter of LaVila and the late Cletus Gaffney. She graduated from Kimberly High School in 1971 and worked as an administrative assistant for the I.R.S. for over 15 years.Kathy was a simple woman with a true heart of gold. She loved her family and her dog, Zoe. Kathy was also very proud of her Irish heritage. She will always be remembered as a great, dedicated and loving mother who dedicated her life to being the best mom she could be to her daughter. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life and she cherished spending time with them. Kathy had the greatest friends and valued them dearly.Kathy will be missed by her daughter, Lisa (Brandon) Fickel and her grandchildren McKenah, Kylee and Lydia. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Mader; her father Cletus Gaffney; and her brother, Daniel Gaffney.A memorial service for Kathleen will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013, at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH (601 East Glendale Ave, Appleton) with Rev.
