- Jim W. Connelly, 63, Bellevue, passed into eternal life, following a six-year struggle with cerebellar degeneration, on Thursday, August 11, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Green Bay on July 30, 1953, to Ward and Beatrice (Champeau) Connelly. Jim was married to Barb (Joosten) on July 30, 1994, recently celebrating 22 amazing years of marriage. He was employed by Georgia Pacific for over 20 years. He was proud of his time serving as Vice President of his union. Jim enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada, playing with his dogs, and spending time with his family and friends.
Jim will be sadly missed by his wife, Barb; two daughters, Carrie (Cory) Reinhard and Melissa (Jarrod) Dickinson; five grandchildren, Cody Huebner, Madyson Huebner, Beau Reinhard, Pacey Dickinson, and Reese Dickinson; four sisters, Connie (Ron) Nelson Tillmann, Terry (Albert) Flores, Amy (David) Wilinski, and Kim (Kory) Goral; mother-in-law, Ginny Joosten; three brothers-in-law, Jeff (Judy) Joosten, Steve (Julie) Joosten, and Brian (Patty) Joosten; many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Warren Joosten; three brothers, Pat, Tom, and Mike Connelly; a brother-in-law, Gary Nelson; and a nephew, Rick Nelson.
Visitation will be at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Tuesday, August 16. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. at church on Tuesday with Rev. Daniel Viertel officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ProkoWall.com.
Jim's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Heartland Hospice, especially Krystal, Tricia, Jason, and chaplain Nancy; Home Instead caregivers, Jane and Alma; Anne Seidl, Bernie and Dan Hock, Georgia Pacific union brothers, and Jim and Barbs' families and friends for all of their support and help that allowed Jim to stay at home.
