- Sheboygan Press, Fri. Mar. 12, 1948, p. 8:4. Mrs. Mary Lefeber, 70, wife of Fred, died Thursday noon at her home in St. Cloud following a lingering illness. The daughter of Jacob and Gertrude Petrie Horn, the deceased was born Dec. 23, 1877, in the town of Harrison (Calumet Co.) She was married to Fred Lefeber at St. joe on Oct. 17, 1904. The couple lived on a farm near Marytown for four years following their marriage, then at St. John for 20 years, and at St. Joe for 20 years before retiring from farming four years ago. Since that time they had made their home at St. Cloud. Mrs. lefeber was a member of St. Joseph's parish at St. joe and was affiliated with the Christian Mothers society. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Ben of St. John and Val of Jericho; two daughters, Mrs. August Sippel, Marytown, and Mrs. William Steffen, St. Joe; one step-brother, jacob, town of Harrison; four sisters, Mrs. Rose Fish, St. John, Mrs. Catherine Marx, Athens, Mrs. Peter Ditter, St. Peter, and Mrs. Joseph Lefeber, St. Cloud, and 16 grandchildren. One son, a brother and a step-sister preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Lisowe Funeral home and at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic church. The Rev. Stephen Zohlen, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be made in the parish cemetery near St. Joe. The body will lie in state at the funeral home at St. Cloud from Saturday morning until the time of the services.
