    • Mrs. Elizabeth Nienhaus, 92, 523 S. Walnut St. died at 2 o'clock this morning after a short illness. She fractured her hip in a fall at her home late Tuesday morning. She was born August 18, 1856, in Trier, Germany, and came to the U.S. in 1877, settling in Brown County. She was married in 1880 and moved to the town of Freedom. She had lived in Appleton since 1913. Mrs. Nienhaus was a member of St. Joseph's church, the Third Order of St. Francis and the Christian Mothers. Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Charles Radtke, Mrs. Melvin Grootemont, Mrs. John Haug, Mrs. Ernest Paltzner all of Appleton, and Mrs. Frank Appleton, Oneida. Three sons: Frank, Escanaba; Michael, Seymour; Peter, Appleton. 24 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Friends may call after 7 PM at Ellenbecker Funeral Home until the time of the funeral. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight and Friday night. The cortege will form at the funeral home at 945 Saturday morning and the service will be at St. Joseph's church at 10 o'clock Saturday with the Rev. Alphonse Heckler in charge. Burial will be at St. Josephs cemetary.
