    • Ronald John Rentmeester, 78, Green Bay, passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 7, 2013, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

      He was born on June 2, 1935, to the late Alvin and Cecilia (Bettine) Rentmeester in Green Bay. Ronald married Helen Jean Brooks on April 23, 1960 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in DePere.

      Ronald graduated in 1953 from Central Catholic High in Green Bay, and went on to Green Bay Badger Business College and studied business administration before spending two years in the Navy, where he ascended to the rank of Yeoman third class while serving at sea . He loved sports and was a star baseball player for Central Catholic High.

      For over 35 years, he was a partner in Rentmeester's Sporting Goods and Rentmeester Kawasaki, where he managed sales and operations of the business. Over the years he traveled to many boat and trailer shows. Rentmeester's was one of the first snowmobile dealers in Northeastern Wisconsin. Ron retired in 1990 and then became self- employed in the construction and carpentry business.

      Ron was very involved in his church, serving on the parish council, the St. Bernard Athletic Club, and the KC's. He loved watching the Packers and Brewers play, spending time at the family cottage, going camping and fishing, and traveling across the United States to visit his children and grandchildren. Ron loved people and no matter where he went he always knew someone. He never forgot a customer.

      He is survived by his wife Helen of 53 years, daughters, Paula (Brad) Holous of Chino Hills, CA., Molly (Shawn) Reed of Rome, GA.; son, Doug (Catalina) Rentmeester of Medinah, IL; eight grandchildren, Jordan Klesath, Dylan Holous, Connor and Sarah Reed, Genevieve, Isabella, Juliette, and Michael Rentmeester; sisters, Janice (Robert) Anderson, Diane (Karl) Anderson, Julie (Gary) Tilkens, Barb (Richard) Leick; brothers, James (Sandy) Rentmeester, Gary (Ellen) Rentmeester, Curt (Sue) Rentmeester; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

      He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Rentmeester; nephew, Benjamin Leick.

      Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. Parish wake service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Ln. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be at the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com
