    • Corey M. Casper, age 25, of Appleton passed away on June 5, 2013 of natural causes. He was born in Tampa, FL on November 4, 1987, son of Wendy (Heagle) Shepard and Troy Casper.

      Corey attended Freedom schools and graduated in 2006. Following graduation Corey enlisted in the US Army where he served a tour of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom and was honorably discharged on February 28, 2010. After being discharged Corey lived in Florida, Washington, and recently returned home to Appleton.

      Corey loved being outdoors and enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, boating, fishing, and enjoying mother nature's gifts. As a student he enjoyed artwork and sculpting. He was a self-taught piano player with the ability to play any music after hearing it only one time.

      Corey was a fun-loving, happy, and positive guy who continually had a smile on his face. He was very close with his siblings.

      He is survived by his parents: Wendy (Michael) Shepard, Appleton; Troy (Laura) Casper, Tacoma, WA; siblings: Kelsey, Brooklyn, and Christopher Shepard, Caitlyn and Justin Casper; grandparents: Liz (Steve) Mendleski, Robert (Patti) Heagle, Mary Ellen (Myron) Holmgren, Dan (Monica) Casper, Frank (Mary) Shepard, Judith Thomas, Christian (Janet) Lerch. Corey is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

      Corey was preceded in death by all of his great-grandparents.

      Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 4 to 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at St. James United Methodist Church, 100 W Capitol Dr, Appleton, from 9:30 am until services at 11 am with Pastor Mark Klaisner officiating. Burial will take place at Freedom Community Cemetery with full military honors following the service at the cemetery.
