- James Kabacinski, 68, Appleton, died on March 5, 2014, at his home. He was born in Green Bay on March 21, 1945, to the late Joseph and Stella (Menne) Kabacinski. James married Mary M. Kane on June 28, 1969.
James retired from Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, where he held the position of programmer-analyst for fifteen years. He had also worked for the former Fort Howard Paper Company in Green Bay. James had many and varied hobbies and interests over the years, including woodworking, photography, oil painting, and target practice. He believed in using the right tool for the job and had the tool collection to prove it. James was an avid motorcyclist. He also loved dogs and dogs loved him. He had a warm and wonderful smile and shared it often.
James is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary; eight nieces and nephews, Timothy Spang, Green Bay, Thomas (Barbara) Spang, Debra (Gerry) Van De Hei, Linda (Patrick) Kazik, Susan Cloud, Terry (Kimberly) Spang, Mariellen (Jon) Hannon, all of De Pere; and Jimmy Joe (Pamela) Spang of Cripple Creek, CO. He is further survived by five brothers-in-law, Patrick (Barbara) O'Kane, of the Boston area, MA; James (Elaine) Kane, Green Bay; Denis Kane, Pittsburgh, PA; William (Marlene) Kane, De Pere; Richard (Ann) Kane, Green Bay; and many other nieces and nephews and their families.
James was preceded in death by his son, Kevin; his sister, Joyce Spang; his brother, Vernal Kabacinski; and a niece, Nancy Spang.
Friends may call from 4 to 7:45 p.m. Thursday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home 1630 E. Mason St. Green Bay. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
