- Joan M. Beining, 65, De Pere, peacefully passed away at home Sunday evening, March 27, 2016, after a two year battle with cancer. Joan was born April 28, 1950, in Green Bay, the daughter of Edward and Marie (Kocken) Hutjens. She enjoyed her sewing (meditation time), gardens, shopping with her sister Diana, and playing card games such as Uno or Skip-Bo with loved ones.
She will be missed by her husband Jerry; daughters Amy and Brenda Beining, Cathy (Aaron) Penterman; sons Doug and Eric Beining; grandchildren Ashton and Drake Penterman; as well as her sister Diana (Lon) Hutjens; and three brothers, Frank (Janice) Hutjens, Erv (Marge) Hutjens, Ron (Patty) Hutjens; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, and her sister Josie Hutjens.
Before her death, Joan wrote the following:
I would like to thank all the wonderful people at Ameriprise Financial, co-workers, family and friends for all of their wonderful support, prayers, cards, and gifts. They meant a lot to me.
The family would also like to say thank you to everyone in Joan's life for all their support and prayers.
Joan's family would appreciate well-wishers and friends to join us on Friday, April 1st, 2016 at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere. Visitation is from 2pm until 6pm, and then a service will be held there at 6pm.
Also, thank you Green Bay Oncology and Unity Hospice for helping through this time.
