- Jeanette {Jan} Van Sistine (nee Colle}), 86, died peacefully at home on October 9 after living four and a half spirit-filled and courageous years with cancer.
Jan is survived by husband, Dave, and children Linda Van Sistine-Yost and her husband Charlie (Claremont, California); Paul Van Sistine and his wife Sue (Sobieski). Lori Van Sistine Maher and her husband Tripp (Green Bay), Tom Van Sistine and his wife Jannelle (Hartsville, SC) and Mary Kay Van Sistine and her husband Mike Willard (Claremont, CA). She is also survived by her grandchildren, the lights of her life, Beth Van Sistine and family Al, Maia and Sophia (Belfast, Northern Ireland); Matt Van Sistine and his wife, Amber and their little girls, Mikayla and Penny Jeanette (De Pere); Andy Van Sistine and his wife Angie, and their baby, Curtis (Milwaukee); Joey Van Sistine (Green Bay), Megan Van Sistine and Jake (Maple Park, IL); Bobby Maher (Minneapolis, MN), Annie Maher Gajewski and her husband Matt, and their little guys Patrick and Eli (Green Bay); Molly Maher Lucareli and her husband Ben (Cedarburg, WI); Natalie Van Sistine (Florence, SC), and Kyle Van Sistine (Hartsville, SC) .
Jan was born on August 14, 1930 in Green Bay, WI. to Anton and Eleanor (Rueckl) Colle. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1948. Jan married David Van Sistine, June 13, 1953. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Fr. Robert Colle. She was a dedicated member of our Lady of Lourdes Parish in De Pere.
Jan was an accomplished quilter and knitter. Throughout the years her quilts and knitwear warmed both the hearts and homes of those she loved.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday October 12, 2016 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in De Pere with a 9:00 am visitation before Mass and lunch to follow in the Kratz Hall. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Dr. Jonathan Tammela and his team Kristin, Martha, Tina and other hospital staff, as well Jan's team at Unity Hospice for their loving care. RYAN FUNERAL HOME, De Pere is assisting the family.
