    • Mark Eggert, age 61 of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Tucson, Arizona. He was born on February 24, 1952, to the late Herbert and Clara Eggert, and grew up in Appleton. Mark was a proud graduate of Appleton West High School in 1970. He always valued education and received a B.S. in Business Administration and Economics from UW-Stevens Point in 1975. Mark married the love of his life, Carol Freude, on October 23, 1976, and they spent 36 wonderful years together. After college, Mark worked for Consolidated Badger for 20 years and was the Vice President of Marketing and Manufacturing. He later worked for the Burke Group of Malibu, California, and was a Management and Labor Relations Consultant. Mark had a very successful business career and was always well respected throughout the business community. He traveled extensively throughout the United States and proudly used his management, organizational, and leadership skills to assist businesses.

      Mark was a man with many passions. He was a standout football player and runner in high school, and he loved listening to music, especially the Beatles. Mark was also an all-around outdoorsman. He loved boating, fishing, golfing, hunting, and snowmobiling. Mark enjoyed spending time on the water, especially when he would go on vacations with his family. He recently retired, and he treasured the time that he was able to spend in Arizona with his family. Mark was a great husband, father, brother, and friend. He was deeply treasured by all that knew him, and he will be dearly missed.

      He is survived by his wife, Carol Eggert; sons, Matthew (Brittany) Eggert and Steven (Dana) Eggert; siblings: Bill (Karen) Eggert, Bob (Mary Ellen) Eggert, Bette (Chuck) Kunitz, Steve (Myra) Eggert, Marie Schwarm, Ellen (Gary) Fiebelkorn, and Aimee (Rich) Zirpel; nieces and nephews: Brad Eggert, Kelly (Eric) Oberg, Kimberlee (Dan) Leintz, Andrea (Ken) Formella, Rebecca (Andrew) Formella, Elizabeth (Tom) Grimmer, Anne Marie (Chris) O'Renick, Peter (Julia) Eggert, Michael (Hillary) Eggert, Katherine (Brett) Shafer, Susan (Ben) Albright, Sara (Matt) Leick, Jenny (Ben) Paulson, Ryan (Pepe) Freude, Paul (Amanda) Freude, Lynn (Ryan) Sauter, Michael Freude, and Jennifer Freude. Mark is further survived by brother-in-law, Tom (special friend Nancy Zielke) Freude and sister-in-law, Nancy (special friend Kurt Schultz) Freude.

      Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Clara Eggert; parents-in-law, Edward and Lollie Freude; brother-in-law, Bill Freude; and sister in law, Ann Freude.

      The family would like to extend a special thank you to David Bond, Dr. Thomas Wascher, Dr. Editha Krueger, Dr. Douglas Moard, and their staff for their expertise and exceptional care. Mark felt truly blessed to have this quality of care available so close to home.

      Funeral services for Mark will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013, at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 N. Oneida Street, Appleton with Rev. Lloyd Luedeman officiating. Hours of visitation will be held at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street, on Thursday, April 11, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. An additional hour of visitation will be held at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund will be established in Mark's name.

      Thank you for thirty-six wonderful years of marriage and two amazing sons. You exemplified the words husband and father each day of your life. You always made our life together so much fun.
