- Medford Star News, Thurs. Jan. 1, 1953, p. 7, c. 5. Mrs. John Kraemer, 91, Dies Wednesday. An aged Medford pioneer, who would have been 92 years old on January 12, died in her sleep at her home on Wednesday morning at 4 o'clock. She was Mrs. John Kraemer who had lived in the town of Medford 67 years. She had been ill the past year. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock at the Holy Rosary Catholic church in Medford. Msgr. Gregory Reuter will officiate at the requiem mass as well as at graveside services at Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. Kramer, nee Elizabeth Gilles, was born at Mt. Calvary on Jan. 12, 1861. She was married to the late John Kraemer on May 7, 1885 at Mt. Calvary. The couple came to this county that year and settled on a farm two miles east of the present Kraemer home just east of Medford's city limits. They moved to the present Kraemer home 40 years ago. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic church and the Rosary society. Survivors include three sons, A.J. and John of Watertown, and Joe of Marshfield, a daughter, Anna (Mrs. Charles Trepanier) of Minneapolis, Minn., 17 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Mr. Kraemer preceded his wife in death on May 27, 1949, as did their daughter, Josephine, who died six years ago.
