- Cyrilla "Sis" Weyenberg, Kaukauna, age 97, died peacefully on Thursday December 5, 2013 at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Oneida on May 9, 1916 to the late George and Minnie (Vanden Heuvel) Baeten. Sis met her husband Frank "Duce" Weyenberg at a dance at the Nightingale. They were married at St. Paul Church in Wrightstown on July 19, 1941. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2008. Together, they operated Duce's Bar for over 20 years. Sis was a life-long member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 258 for 62 years, and a member of the Golden Agers. Sis enjoyed spending time at White Clay Lake, fishing, and playing cards but the most important thing to Sis was spending time with her family.
Sis is survived by her daughter: Mary (Jerry) Gloudemans, Little Chute; son: Carl Weyenberg, Kaukauna; five grandchildren: Dave (Julie) Gloudemans, Middleton; Steve (Ellen) Gloudemans, Little Chute; Dianne (Bill) Vande Voort, Kimberly; Mark (Mary) Gloudemans, Little Chute; and Mike (Kari) Gloudemans, Menasha; thirteen great grandchildren: MacKenzie, Colin and Spencer Gloudemans; Adam (Rachel) Gloudemans and Jennifer (Jon) Hietpas; Corey (fiancée Allison), Eric and Tyler Vande Voort; Katie and Matthew Gloudemans; Grant, Wade and Claire Gloudemans; four great great grandchildren: Jack Gloudemans, Bryce and Landon Hietpas and Oliver Vande Voort; sisters: Pat Peters, Rita Willems and Vi Jauquet; and sisters and brother-in-law: Ella and Betty Baeten, Alma Weyenberg and Hub Gerend. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband Frank, Cyrilla was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Frank H and Minnie (Peeters) Weyenberg; brothers: Norbert (Opal), Robert and Harold Baeten; sisters: Melly (Charles) Bickel, Helen (1st husband Paul Casey) (Frank) Thiessen, Marge Gerend, Toddy (Leroy) Peters and Catherine Gerend; and brothers and sister-in-law: Don Jauquet, Aloys Peters, Earl Willems, Emma (Clarence) Peters and Clarence Weyenberg.
Visitation will be held Monday December 9, 2013 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. The Rev. Ronald Belitz will officiate. Committal St. John Cemetery. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com.
