    • Joan Frances Doherty, 70, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, July 27, 2013, from complications attributed to her long battle with Crohn's disease. She was born October 28, 1942, in Green Bay, to the late Francis and Agnes (Roskowski) Vickman. She attended SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Elementary School, and then East High School, graduating with the class of 1960. On June 17, 1962, she married Allan Leland Doherty at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Green Bay. Joan was a caring wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joan worked for many years alongside her sister-in-law Phyllis Doherty at the Union Hotel in De Pere. Joan was an avid bowler, where she participated in league play, spending time with her many friends. Joan enjoyed her time at the casino, traveling, in her kitchen making her special recipes, which included chicken booyah, chocolate torte, and cream puffs for her family. She loved growing tomatoes, counting how many she had that year. Joan was also a true Elvis fan.

      Joan is survived by her husband of 51 years, Allan; her daughters, Nancy (Steve) Prevost, Ann (Mike) Nejedlo, Cathy (Jim) Duquaine, all of Green Bay, and Christine (Jim Lotter) Doherty, Krakow; sons, Pat (Janet) Doherty and Tom (Donna) Doherty, both of Green Bay; her 14 grandchildren, Stephanie, Chad and Nathan Prevost, Kaila and Evan Doherty, Scott (Wendy) and Sarah Nejedlo, Kayla and Ryan Duquaine, Cassandra, Matthew and Sam Doherty, Erika and Jake Bader; four great-grandchildren, Skye, Gracie, Mya and Ava; her sister, Jeannie (Steve) Heyrman, Green Bay; brothers, Danny (Shirley) Vickman and Francis (Darci) Vickman, both of Green Bay, Steve (Patti) Vickman, Brussels; sisters-in-law, Alma (Kenny) Hilbert, Menominee, MI; Donna Mae (Ronnie) Buechler, Wrightstown; Phyllis Doherty and Betty Doherty, both of De Pere; brothers-in-law, David Doherty, Green Bay; Lee (Rita) Doherty, De Pere; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; her father and mother-in-law, Elmer Lyle and Christine Doherty; her sister, Janet Bersch; Sister-in-law, Margaret Doherty; brothers-in-law, Dean Doherty, Lyle Doherty, and Lenny Doherty; niece, Pauline Doherty and granddaughter, Renee Rose Prevost.

      Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, August 3, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Ln. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev.
