    • Delbert E. Rentmeester, 83, died Thursday, May 14, 2015, at a local nursing home following a brief illness. He was born December 26, 1931 in Green Bay to the late Bernard and Ella (Tilkens) Rentmeester. Delbert graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1951. Early in life Delbert started working at Greiling farms, which eventually led him to own and operate his own dairy farm. He married the former Margaret Wied on October 4, 1952 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Delbert also began a career as a meat processor at Liebmann Packing and continued with Dalebreaux Packing until his retirement. Following retirement, Delbert started another career in the maintenance department at Bellin Hospital, where he was employed until 2010. Delbert's favorite hobbies included raising horses and raising pigeons of which he was a member of the Green Bay Pigeon Club. He and Margaret enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, with some of their most memorable trips to Alaska and Hawaii. Delbert also enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to deer hunting every year. He was a longtime member of Holy Martyrs of Gorcum and now Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

      He is survived by his wife Margaret and their six children: Linda (Dan) DeGrave, Green Bay; Kathleen (John) Shedivy, Suring; Joan (Paul) Bierke, Green Bay; Jane (Dale) Heraly, Denmark; Gerald Rentmeester and his special friend Marilyn Winters and Terrance (Vicki) Rentmeester all of Green Bay; 24 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine DePrey, Green Bay and Sharon (Leo) Witcpalek, De Pere; two sisters-in-law: Audrey Rentmeester, De Pere and Dorothy Rentmeester, Green Bay; two brothers-in-law, Martin (Rosemarie) Wied, Green Bay and Walter (Mary) Wied, Crandon; two sisters-in-law, Norma Wied and Sue Wied, both Green Bay, many nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Gena Marie Rentmeester; two brothers, Myron and James Rentmeester; three brothers-in-law, Melvin DePrey, John Wied and Norman Wied.

      Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4:00-8:00 pm Sunday. Parish wake service 7:30 pm Sunday. Visitation will continue on Monday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd. after 9:00 am Monday until time of mass. Funeral mass 10:30 am Monday at the church with Rev.
