- Florence M. Paul, 84 years, Sherwood, in Calumet County, formerly of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Friday, (Feb. 5, 2010) at Oakridge Garden Nursing Center in Menasha.
She was born Jan. 14, 1926, in Oneida, the daughter of the late Anton and Thressa (Doxtator) Melchert.
On April 12, 1944, she married Raymond Fred Paul.
He preceded her in death on August 10, 1969.
They farmed and raised their family in the town of Sevastopol for many years. Florence enjoyed doing crafts, reading, solving jigsaw puzzles, and later in life, all activities and outings with Oakridge Garden Nursing Center.
Survivors include her four children, JoAnn (Jerry) Hanaway of Hebron, Indiana, Ray Paul Jr. of Sturgeon Bay, Mary (Bill) Sorenson of Sherwood, John (Cathy) Paul of Sturgeon Bay; eight grandchildren, Jeff Hanaway, Rochelle (John) Whitney, Jennifer (friend, Mike) Blaschek, Jessica (Steve) Bongle, Tim (Michelle) Sorenson, Mike Sorenson, Zac (Emily) Paul, Mehgan (special friend, Warren) Paul; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher Blaschek, Lakisha and Keona Shorter, Jonathan Whitney, Rebecca and Brianna Bongle, Olivia Sorenson, Jacob Hanaway; one sister, Carol Metoxen of Oneida; two brothers, Merlin (Elaine) Melchert of Oneida, Gary (Pat) Melchert of Appleton; three sister-in-laws, Carol Melchert, Marie Melchert, and Ruth Melchert all of Oneida.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Raymond Paul, six brothers, Tony, Raymond, Harvey, Herman, Willie, Carl; and daughter-in-law, Ruth Paul (1988).
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday (Feb. 11, 2010) at Huehns Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Andersen officiating. Burial will follow at Bayside Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at Huehns Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given in her memory to Oakridge Garden Nursing Center in Menasha.
