Age 74, died Sunday, September 25, 1988, at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a brief illness. He was born April 14, 1914, in Little Chute, son of the Late Peter and Anna (Langedyke) Biersteker. He was a graduate of St. John High School in Little Chute and had lived in Kaukauna since 1948. He was employed at Kimberly Clark in Kimberly for over 40 years until his retirement in 1976. He was an avid church worker and golfer. He was active in parish activities in St. Mary's at Kaukauna as a lay minister, CCD Teacher, altar boy trainer, parish council member and communion distributor to the homebound and hospitalized of the parish. He was a member of the Kimberly-Clark Quarter Century Club, Jacob Coppus Post No. 258 American Legion at Little Chute, and Mid Valley Gold Club, and a past officer of the Kimberly Credit Union. He was a World War Ii Army Air Corps Veteran. Survivors include his wife, Eileen (Courtney) Biersteker; three sons and a daughter-in-law: Mel and Cynthia Biersteker, Los Angeles; Robert, Hilbert; James, Chilton; three daughters and son-in-law; Joan and Edward Wisniewski, St. paul; Mary and Mike Roerig, Oneida; Ann and Tom Whitty, Menasha; eight grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Maurice "Terry" and Fran Biersteker, Kaukauna; Joseph and Betty, Los Angeles; John and Honey, Columbus, Ohio; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Betty and Mervin Hansen, and Alice and Joyhn Grissman, all of Kaukauna; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara; a son, Joseph and two brothers: Theodore and Nicholas. There will be a memorial mass at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with the Rev. John Dewane officiating. The family will beet with relatives and friends after the service. A memorial fund has been established in his name for St. Mary's building fund. There will be no visitation at the Greenwood Fargo Funeral Home.
