Florence M. Fuller, age 70, a former Mattoon area resident, died on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at EastviewMedical and Rehabilitation Center, Antigo.
She was born on June 22, 1939 in the township of Norwood, Langlade County, the daughter of the late Willard and Germaine (Menting) Franzen. On June 22,1957, Florence was united in marriage to LaVerne Fuller in Phlox. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2009. Florence worked at various area restaurants and supper clubs for many years. She was also the manager for the Phlox meal site. Florence enjoyed being a homemaker and was a wonderful cook. She was a member of St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church, Phlox. The couple owned and operated Fuller Trees, and Florence enjoyed making wreaths with her children and grandchildren. Florence also enjoyed traveling, gardening and reading, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include: five sons, Tim (Joyce) Fuller, Steve (Paula) Fuller, Bob (Chris) Fuller, Howie (Barb)
Fuller, all of Birnamwood and Roger (Angie) Fuller, Ventura, Calif.; two daughters, Carmin (Ron) Grall,
Birnamwood and Marsha (Gordy) Salzwedel, Marshfield; twenty-four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Helen (Special Friend, Babe) Wilmot, Kiel, Ev (AI) Horzewski, Brillion, Irma Zipperer, Mattoon, Mel (Laurie) Franzen, Antigo, Jay (Carol) Franzen, Antigo, Dot Malitz, Cecil, Don (Sue) Franzen, Townsend and Dave (Lynn) Franzen, Stevens Point.
In addition to her husband and parents, Florence was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Leonard; and brothers-in-law, Ron Leonard, Charles Pribbernow, Frank Wilmot and Dave Malitz.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m on Monday, Oct. 5 at St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church, Phlox. The Rev. David Kiefer and Deacon Thomas Hartman will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, town of Hutchins, Shawano County. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Schmidt Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
