Notes - Mathias Spranger, age 82, Eland, town of Elderon, died November 25, 1963 at his home.
He was born November 3, 1881 in Brown County.
On November 17, 1903 Mathias was united in marriage to Antonetta VanDeHey. She preceded him in death on July 29, 1960.
Survivors include eight children, Lillian (Albert) VanWetering, Chicago, Verna (John) Lukasko, Eland, Adala (Herman) Grissman, Medford, Raymond Spranger, Lester (Verna) Spranger, both of Eland, Orville (Theresa) Spranger, Wittenberg, Lyman (Grace) Spranger, Elderon and Herbert (Martha)Spranger, Hatley; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Lyons, New Jersey and Margaret Gracyalny, Menasha; and one brother, Gerhardt (Anna) Spranger, Wittenberg.
Funeral services were held November 27, 1963 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Wittenberg. The Rev. Jerome Watry officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
