    • Joseph "Joe" P. Boyle, 61, of Manitowoc, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, surrounded by his family. Joe was born on July 10, 1954, to the late Delle and Betty (Moehrke) Boyle in Menominee, Mich. Joe graduated from Marinette High School, class of 1972. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy with his best friend, Bill Britton, and served for two years. In 1975, his daughter was born and as he put it, "she was the best thing I ever created." On December 22, 1984, Joe married Cathy Kubnick at Twin Cities Baptist Church in Manitowoc; she preceded him in death eight days earlier on December 12th. He had worked at Weyerhaeuser for many years, and most recently, as a bus driver for the Manitowoc School District, retiring two years ago to enjoy time with his wife. Joe had a wonderful sense of humor (or he at least thought he did), he loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He enjoyed playing cribbage, camping, cooking, helping everyone, and spending time with family and friends. His biggest love was Jesus, and shared Him with others through: Church in the Woods, going to nursing homes to preach and talking with residents, and living out the love of Christ in all he did. Joe is survived by his daughter, Christine Boyle of Marinette; brother, Al Boyle of Manitowoc; sisters: Linda (John) McIntyre of Emmet, Mich. and Mary Jo (John) Selander of Gladstone, Mich.; brother-in-law, Jimmy Kubnick of Florida; aunt, Vi Moehrke of Lake Linden, Mich.; special friend, George (Diane) Radke of Manitowoc; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is further survived by many friends he considered family; adopted by many, especially, Markus and Coreen Christel. In addition to his wife, Cathy, he was preceded in death his parents: Delle (Kathy) Boyle and Betty (Ken) Erickson; sister, Marcia Vertin; and two brothers-in-law: Donn and Jimmy Kubnick. Visitation will be held TODAY, December 22nd, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hope Community Church, 4408 County Road B, Manitowoc. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. with Rev. John Aitken officiating. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, any expressions of sympathy and kindness can be directed to Christine Boyle to assist with expenses. (Marinette-Menominee Eagle Herald, December 22nd, 2015)
