Lorraine M. Steffen
Visitation for Lorraine M. Steffen, 85, of Peshtigo will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 13 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sister Helen Plum will officiate at a wake service at 6 p.m.
Further visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14 at St. Marys Church in Peshtigo from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Rev. Ralph Merkatoris will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo. She passed away on Monday, April 11 at Rennes Health Care Center-East, Peshtigo.
Born on March 23, 1926 to the late William and Marie (Henning) Bergold in Marinette, she graduated from Marinette High School in 1944. On June 22, 1946 she married Robert J. "Bob" Steffen at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Marinette.
During the war she worked at Lloyd Manufacturing in the shell department. She also worked at Marinette Knitting Mills, Milwaukee Glove and the former Badger Piston (now Safeguard), where she was involved in the Union and retired from there in 1974. She was a member of St. Marys Church, a past member of the Altar Society, the Catholic Womans Club and the Boilermakers Union. She was also a Girl Scout leader for many years. She loved to travel, going to places like Hawaii, Jamaica, Boston, Seattle and many more. She enjoyed working embroidery with her husband and also crocheting and knitting. In her younger years she enjoyed dancing and roller skating, where she met her husband.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bob of Peshtigo; a daughter, Maryann (Ronald) Deschaine of Peshtigo; one granddaughter and adopted family member, Becca Hilden of Marinette.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn.

Friends may call at Thielen Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. with a wake service at 6 p.m. with Sister Helen Plum. Additional time of visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14 from 10 a.m. until time of service. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ralph Merkatoris officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo.
