- Eunice R. Borst, 92, of Marinette, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018, at home. She was born March 2, 1926, in Marinette to the late Nicholas and Rosanna (Gervais) Bernardy.
Eunice was a 1943 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School. After high school, Eunice moved to Washington and worked for the FBI and then at the Pentagon during World War II. After the war, she returned to Marinette. On February 15, 1947, she married Robert Borst at St Josephs Catholic Church in Walsh. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lourdes/Holy Family Parish. Eunice loved to travel; she had visited 57 countries and every state in the US. She was also an avid reader, Packer and Brewer fan, bridge player and enjoyed counted cross stitching.
Eunice was a devoted and beloved mom, grandma and great-grandma to a daughter, Ruth (Dan) Wesoloski of Menominee, and their children: Adam (Dawn), Amy (Roger) Rouleau and Niki Sauve; two sons: James of Ishpeming and Randy (Karen) Green Bay and their children: Becky (Bob) Garnell, Emilie (Zeb) Bryner and Cody Borst; ten great-grandchildren: Jonah, Josie, Kyra, Kylie, Eli, Abby, Anna, Ava, Gabe and Eli; a brother, James (Bev) Bernardy of El Macero, Calif.; sister-in-law Mary Ann Vande Hei of DePere, Wis.; and dear neighbors Tom and Phyllis Harbick. In addition to her husband Robert, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary; a sister, Kathryn Tippett; and a brother, Warren Bernardy.
Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 19, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish-Our Lady of Lourdes on Taylor Street on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
