- Warren J. Bernardy, 91, of Marinette, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016, in De Pere. He was born November 15, 1924, in Marinette, to the late Nicholas and Roseanne (Gervais) Bernardy.
Warren was a 1943 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy and was in Normandy on D-Day. In 2011, he was able to participate in the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. On September 30, 1950, he married Rosalie Schuchart at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Marinette. Rosalie preceded him in death on July 5, 2005. He worked as a lineman for Wisconsin Public Service for 38 years until his retirement. Warren enjoyed traveling, golfing and playing cards. Time spent with his family was what he cherished most. He was a member of SS. Joseph and Edward Parish, and the Marinette Knights of Columbus.
Warren is survived by two sons: Jeff (Lenore) of Oshkosh and Jack (Barb) of De Pere; three daughters: Janice (Kim) Eggener of Green Bay, Joanne (Donald) Brescia of Oshkosh and Jennifer (Dan) Larson of Stiles. Thirteen grandchildren: Sara, Kristina, Katie, Corynn, Tristan, Crystal, Tami, Michael, Jessica, Peter, Leah, Jacob and Megan; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Bev) of Calif.; and a sister, Eunice Borst of Marinette. In addition to his parents and wife, Rosalie, Warren was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Tippett.
Friends may call at SS. Joseph and Edward Parish in Walsh, on Wednesday, April 13th, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., with Reverend Bob Kahrun officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established.
