    • Bernard died in a VA hospital in Iron Mountain, MI. He left home when he was 16 and joined the Navy where he served during World War I. While in the Navy he received training at Harvard. After the war he worked in a logging camp in Watersmeet, MI. Someone from Wabeno met him there and word got back to his father John. His father hired a car and wne there and brought him back to Wabeno. He worked as an electrician, was active in local politics, and served as town chairman for many years. He lived with his sister Margaret's family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He never married.
