    Norbert A. Verboomen November 1, 1952 ~ July 5, 2024 (age 71)
Norbert Allen Verboomen, 71, of Kaukauna passed away in his home surrounded by family on Friday, July 5, 2024, after a 15 month long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He lived a full and rewarding life with his best friend, soul mate, and cribbage partner Mary Goffard. They were married just shy of 48 years on August 20, 1976. Together, they had four boys he loved dearly.

Norb worked at Wrightstown Manufacturing for 37 years, became a part owner, and retired in 2011. He always had a joke to tell and put a smile on everyone’s face. He enjoyed traveling around the country with his wife creating wonderful memories and making people he just met laugh out loud. Every morning Norb and Mary had coffee and played a game of cribbage; it was their way of starting the day together. Most Sundays after watching his morning westerns, he would usher at Holy Cross church. He loved hunting with his friends, sons, their friends, and even a couple of the grandkids. Norb also enjoyed gardening, watching old westerns, and woodworking. He finally built his dream shop two years ago and loved every minute he used it. Norb was so proud of his family and embraced any time he could spend with them. He attended baseball, football, soccer, and any other event his grandchildren were involved in. Holiday meals with the family were most important to him. He loved to cook, share stories, and tell jokes.

Norb is survived by wife, Mary (Goffard); four sons and their spouses: Jason (Beth), Grand Chute, Scott (Amy), Black Creek, Phil (Shannon), Kaukauna, Matthew (Carrie), Kaukauna; 10 grandchildren: Riley, Chase, Alexis, Leo, Raymond, Lucas, Lincoln, Alyce, Wesley and Colby; five brothers and three sisters: Dave (Mary), Kaukauna, Bill (Diane), Little Chute, Wayne (Marianne), Appleton, Dan (Doris), Kaukauna, Marty , Appleton, Sue (Bill) Vanevenhoven, Wrightstown, Rose (Dave) Chaudoir, Brussels, Mary Ann (Ken) Rohan, Bear Creek; brother-in-law, Clayton (Kathy) Goffard; sisters-in law: Alice Goffard and Helen Goffard; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roseanne and Clarence Verboomen; mother and father-In- law, Lauretta and Wilbert Goffard; infant brothers: Kenny and Nicky; brother-in- laws: Larry Goffard, Ralph Goffard; and infant brother–in-law, Joseph Goffard.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, WI. Visitation will take place at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In leu of flowers, we would appreciate that money be donated to Pancreatic Cancer Research - Medical College of Wisconsin (mcw.edu). Please designate the donations as a tribute In Memory of Norb Verboomen.

We would like to thank our family and friends for all the help and support, especially Dr. Rupp and his nurse and Norb’s daughter-in-law, Amy Verboomen. Thanks to the staff at the Theda Care Cancer Center and Hospice who helped us through this journey. And finally, a very special thanks to Father Luke at Holy Cross who helped him be at peace. We love you all!
