- Michael "Mike" S. Van Lanen, 56, Greenleaf, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 15, 2017. He was born June 9, 1960 in Green Bay, a son of Randel and Marilyn (Ejnik) Van Lanen. On April 28, 1990, Mike married the former Beverly "Bev" White at St. Paul Episcopal Church, Suamico.
Mike loved being a chef for the Wild Onion and Red Fox before finally working for Dean Foods. He was a member of the Ashwaubenon Retired Fire Company 213 and helping the fire company set tents for any community event. Mike was also a faithful member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, Suamico where he would help whenever he could for the church.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman whether fishing, hunting, going to the family cabin, or gardening. He was an extremely humble, kind, and giving man who would always be there to help when asked. He had a story for anything or a quick comeback with that little smirk of a smile after saying it. Mike loved his time with his daughters- grooming the dogs, or going for a beer and Packer numbers.
Mike is survived by his wife of 26 years Bev Van Lanen; his three daughters: Melissa (Cory) and their sons Brenton and Zachary, Brianna (Zak), and Rebecca; his mother Marilyn Van Lanen; siblings: Gary (Stacey), Brian (Kelley), Paul (Michelle); brothers and sisters-in-law: Kevin, Robert (Mary), Wayne, Donna (Edward), Barbara (Red), Linda, Sally, Sandy (Mac), Gary (Sandy), Eddie (Barb), Marie, and Darold. He is further survived by his aunt Florence (Dick) Mulloy; his uncle Bill (Moria) Ejnik; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Randall; father and mother-in-law Albert (Ruth) White; Ejnik uncles: Jerry, Tommy and his Van Lanen aunts and uncles: Al, Hannah, Harvey, Ray, Monica, Hank, Sally, Earl, and Ruth; his brothers-in-law Jimmy and Donnie; a nephew Dean.
